Where’s the Sub?
Paradigm has taken on the challenge of making an “invisible” subwoofer with the newest addition to its signature architectural series. The PCS-80R (pricing not yet announced) aims to combine powerful sub performance with the convenience and unobtrusive appeal of an in-wall.
Although most in-wall subs are infamous for their shoddy bass performance because of resonances, Paradigm has worked to eliminate this problem. The eight-inch, spotlight-shaped sub implements die-cast and Glass-Reinforced Injection-Molded Polymer (GRIP) chassis and mounting brackets, which help to eliminate resonances and standing waves. The PCS-80R can also be combined with Paradigm’s Guided Soundfield in-ceiling speaker system for a truly invisible sound experience.
