Yamaha Introduces $350 Stereo Receiver
Despite its retro appearance — and the presence of an AM/FM tuner — the R-N303 is ready for hi-res audio playback and wireless streaming via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay, and Yamaha’s own app-based MusicCast platform and provides direct access to music-streaming services Spotify, Pandora, Deezer, Napster, SiriusXM Internet Radio, Tidal, and thousands of internet radio stations.
Rated to deliver 2 x 100 watts (0.2% THD into 8 ohms), the receiver has a Burr-Brown DAC (digital-to-analog converter) equipped to play 192-kHz/24-bit FLAC, WAV, and AIFF files as well as 2.8- and 5.6-MHz DSD files and supports the DLNA protocol for hassle-free wireless streaming from networked PCs, servers, and DLNA-enabled mobile devices.
Connections include a dedicated phono input, optical and coaxial digital inputs, three RCA analog inputs and one output, an Ethernet port, and a headphone jack on the front panel.
A remote control is included but the receiver can also be controlled via Yamaha’s free MusicCast app.
