Following up on a post earlier today by YouTube head Salar Kamangar, the company formally announced the launch of its movie rental service. The initial group of some 3,000 rental titles should begin rolling out today (check the site for information and terms as they're announced; the word at present is that rates will be in line with the current market), and includes films ranging from Caddyshack to The Green Hornet. Netflix, iTunes, Amazon...the game is on!
