Twin-Format Solution: Go-Video DVR5000
The DVR5000's single connection to your TV and one remote will do it all. The DVD deck will play music CDs, CD-Rs and MP3-derived CDs, and includes both Dolby Digital 5.1 decoder and DTS output. DVD audio output from appropriate sources is at state-of-the-art 96KHz/24-bit resolution.
The VCR section offers 4-head Hi-Fi stereo recording and playback. Audio can be "unmuted" during 2x fast-forward operation. VCR Plus+ C3 makes recording off cable a no-brainer, and the 16-event, 1-year calendar provides plenty of margin for saving television shows. When the DVR5000 is first plugged in, the auto-search and self-programming features will find and remember all available channels. The clock even sets itself. Multilingual onscreen programming can be chosen from English, French, or Spanish.
A 10-bit video digital-to-analog converter and 27MHz digital filter enhance video quality; back-panel outputs include composite, component, and S-video for maximum hookup versatility. The DVR5000 lets you watch a DVD while recording a TV show. Non-Macrovision encoded DVDs to can be dubbed directly to VHS tapes.
A headphone jack with its own volume control permits late-night listening. The remote control has glow-in-the-dark keys and a joystick for easy intuitive use, and will operate most TVs and cable boxes. Best of all, the dual deck is only $400---less than the cost of combined individual VCRs and DVD players. The DVR5000 is distributed by Sensory Science.
