Monitor Audio MASS 5.1 Speaker System Test Bench
Satellite Sensitivity:84 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz
This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the MASS 10 satellite (purple trace) and MASS W200 subwoofer (blue trace). The passive loudspeaker was measured with grille at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input.
The MASS 10’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +1.51/–0.93 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses in horizontal mode measures +1.19/–0.89 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 103 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 83 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 5.85 ohms at 277 Hz and a phase angle of –52.46 degrees at 154 Hz.
The MASS W200’s close-miked response in Music mode, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the ower –3dB point is at 41 Hz and the –6dB point is at 37 Hz. The upper –3dB point is at 117 Hz using the LFE input.—MJP
