My jaw just dropped. At the price. I must admit, I'd love to hear what and $80K pair of speakers sound like.
B&O Celebrates 90 Years with Super Smart Wireless Speaker
In addition to the Active Room Compensation technology, the speaker supports the WiSA wireless protocol and is equipped with a couple of unique controls: Beam Width, which enables the listener to switch between narrow and wide settings to accommodate different listening situations, and Beam Direction to “steer sound radiation” toward the listening position. Settings can be controlled, and presets created, using the supplied remote control or via a dedicated app.
The geometric BeoLab 90 is a 360º-design with 18 strategically-positioned Scan-Speak drivers and 14 channels of ICEpower amplification housed a 143-pound aluminum cabinet with a wood base and black grilles that “hover like sails in front of the speakers.”
“BeoLab 90 is our most complete loudspeaker to date,” said Bang & Olufsen CEO, Tue Mantoni. “It is a committed investment in excellent craftsmanship, ideal materials and superior technology” that will benefit future products.
The BeoLab 90 will be demonstrated at select Bang & Olufsen starting November 17, with consumer deliveries expected by the end of the year at the price of $38,995 per speaker.
