Emotiva is offering a limited-time $100 discount on its new BasX MC-700 surround-sound processor, which ships December 30.

One of several “affordable high-end” products in the BasX line the company announced last spring, the $599 processor is being offered at $499 for orders placed by the end of the month on emotiva.com.

The MC-700 supports all current 5.1 and 7.1 channel surround-sound formats and provides six 4K-ready HDMI video inputs, including three that support high dynamic range (HDR10) video with HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2. The processor supports Bluetooth streaming via an optional $43 adapter and has two analog and two digital inputs (one coaxial and one optical).

Other connections include two HDMI outputs (one with HDMI 2.0a, HDCP 2.2, and HDR), balanced and unbalanced subwoofer outputs, an infrared (IR) remote-control control signal input and output, an RS-232 remote control input, a programmable trigger output, and two USB data inputs (for firmware upgrades).

The MC-700 also features 32-bit dual-core DSPs, flexible bass management, a built-in headphone amplifier, fully configurable parametric equalizers (11 per channel), and Emotiva’s Emo-Q automatic multichannel room-correction system, which includes a calibrated microphone.

The MC-700 can be operated via front-panel controls with the large display or the supplied IR remote control. An intuitive menu system is said to make the processor easy to configure and operate.
