Nugs.net, the website dedicated downloading and streaming live music from some of the world’s largest touring acts, has adopted MQA’s Master Quality Authenticated audio encoding technology for the downloading and streaming services it provides for more than 1,000 artists.

Concerts from Metallica and Bruce Springsteen are among the first to be available for download in MQA format with MQA downloads from Pearl Jam, Phish, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and others to follow. Subscribers will also have the option to stream concert recordings in MQA later this year, according to the company.

Nugs.net offers downloads in a number of formats, including MP3, Lossless, DSD, HD-Audio, and physical CD. MQA appears as an option under HD-Audio alongside 24-bit FLAC and ALAC downloads.

Each live performance from Metallica’s current WorldWired tour will be released on LiveMetallica.com, the service nugs.net has run for Metallica since 2004.

Recordings of every night Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band performed during the ongoing 2016-2017 River Tour are available for download in MQA at Live.BruceSpringsteen.net, along with the just-released 33-song tour finale from Helsinki in 2012.

“Our pursuit of the highest fidelity in our listeners’ playback experience led us to MQA,” said nugs.net founder and CEO Brad Serling. “We were intrigued when we first read about MQA and were thrilled with the results when the MQA folks first encoded some of our live recordings.”

MQA CEO Mike Jbara said, “Nugs.net connects with true music fans like nobody else. Live recordings amplify MQA's mission perfectly and we are very grateful for this exciting partnership.”
