Denon Unveils ‘Fully Loaded’ $1,000 AVR
The fifth-generation AVR-X3400H ($999) boasts a discrete amplifier section rated to deliver 7 x 105 watts (8 ohms at 0.08% THD), Dolby Atmos and DTS:X object-based 5.1.2 surround-sound processing, eight HDMI inputs, including one on the front panel, hi-res music playback via an AKM eight-channel 32-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC), and Audyssey MultEQ XT32 automated setup and optimization.
In addition, the receiver has a 4K Ultra HD video section that provides 4K upscaling and supports HDCP 2.2, BT.2020, wide color gamut, and 4:4:4 color sub-sampling. It is also compatible with Denon’s app-based Heos wireless multiroom streaming protocol and supports streaming via AirPlay and Bluetooth.
Voice control through the Alexa Smart Home Skill is coming with a September firmware update. The update will enable hands-free control of a range of functions, including volume, transport control, mute, next track, and external input switching.

• Custom installation features including IR remote in/out, 12V trigger, 7.2-channel preouts, RS232 control, and Crestron Connected compatibility
• Energy-saving Intelligent ECO mode with off/on/auto setting
HLG high dynamic range support will require a firmware update.
