James Unveils High-Performance Tower Speakers
The new Q-Series has three models, all featuring the company’s signature 1-inch Beryllium quad tweeter array, a rigid, reinforced-MDF enclosure, and a stylish grille made from coated-aluminum bar stock—a design inspired by the shape of Quartz crystals found in nature. The company says each model can be custom-sized and finished to meet the exact needs of any environment.
The flagship Q60 ($15,000 each) stands 5-feet tall and is engineered for bi-amplification with full-range and subwoofer sections. The three-way, full-range section comprises two 8-inch woofers, two 6.5-inch midranges, and the quad tweeter array, while the subwoofer section houses a 12-inch down-firing aluminum-cone driver; the woofer has a 3-inch voice coil said to be capable of handling more than 1,000 watts of power.
The Q48 ($10,000 each) implements the same four-way, bi-amped configuration and 12-inch subwoofer section as the Q60 but employs smaller 5.25-inch midrange drivers in a 4-foot-tall cabinet.
The Q30 ($6,000 each) is 30 inches tall and mates the quad tweeter array with and 8-inch midrange driver and 8-inch long-excursion woofer, both aluminum-cone drivers with Santoprene rubber surrounds.
All Q-Series models are built at the James Loudspeaker factory in Napa, CA USA factory.
