HyperX Gears Up for Holiday Gaming
The Cloud Alpha gaming headset ($100) features 50mm (2-inch) dual-chamber drivers designed to reduce distortion and enhance audio clarity.
Having dual chambers makes it possible to separate the mids and highs from the bass and tune the sound to be more dynamic, according to the company. The Cloud Alpha replaces the popular Cloud headset but is said to maintain the DNA of HyperX’s most popular headsets.
Comfort features include ear cushions made of memory foam, an expanded headband wrapped in softer, more pliable leatherette, and a lightweight aluminum frame. The headset has a detachable cable with in-line audio controls so console gamers can adjust volume and mute the microphone right on the cable; the control is compatible with PCs and Macs; phones with standard CTIA connectors; PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Nintendo Switch game consoles; and virtual reality systems with 3.5mm ports. The headset is also certified for TeamSpeak and Discord team communication.
“Designed and tested in the HyperX labs, Cloud Alpha delivers the best possible audio performance, comfort, and build quality for the ultimate competitive advantage and will be used by top eSports pros globally,” said Tyler Needles, global audio business manager for HyperX.
The company also sells the Pulsefire FPS ($50), a “pinpoint accurate” ergonomic mouse built for gaming, and the steel-frame Alloy FPS keyboard ($100). Designed for pro-level gaming, the keyboard is compact and offers three choices of German-made CherryMX mechanical key switches, which are described as highly reactive, reliable, and durable.
