Control4 to Host Smart Home Demos Around the U.S.

If you’ve ever wondered what “smart home” means in the real world, home automation specialist Control4 wants to show you.

The Salt Lake City-based company is inviting inquisitive homeowners around the country to stop by a Control4 Certified Showroom on Thursday, October 18 to see firsthand how home automation — including entertainment control, smart lighting, and security — might fit into their lives.

“On C4Yourself Day, we invite both current Control4 homeowners and those curious about home technology to try out the latest features we’ve added to our smart home experience,” said Control4 CEO and Chairman Martin Plaehn. “We’re proud to have added new Control4 Certified Showrooms around the world in the last few months, and welcome homeowners to a nearby location to experience how Control4 can complement their lifestyle and home.”

Thursday’s event will feature demonstrations of high-resolution multriroom audio via Deezer HiFi, Amazon Music, Pandora, Tidal, and other streaming services; Intercom Anywhere technology that enables homeowners to see who’s at the door and communicate with any room in the house through their mobile phone; and “When >> Then Automation” that makes it easy to modify and personalize home automation.

“When people step inside, they instantly realize they are not in a traditional A/V showroom,” said Troy Hanson, owner of Cincinnati’s Hanson Audio Video. “It is designed to tell a story about how home automation enhances day-to-day life.”

More than 3,000 consumers visited over 130 Control4 Certified Showrooms around the world during an inaugural C4Yourself Day held on May 31.
