Severtson’s Microperf Material Now Available for Projection Screens Up to 200 Inches
The Mesa, AZ-based company said it increased the maximum size of its Cinema White and Cinema Grey microperf offerings to meet demand for large home theaters and commercial/professional installations where speakers are placed behind the screen to create a more realistic soundstage.
President and CEO Toby Severtson said demand for the company’s microperf material is increasing because it “practically eliminates moiré,” which can be a problem with perforated screens. He attributes the improvement in visual performance to Severtson’s material having approximately 7% open space versus 4.5% for other perforated screens.
Severtson said its Cinema White material is more than 30 percent brighter than the Matte White option and provides increased reflectivity to enhance image brightness in situations where a low level of ambient light is present.
Cinema White and Cinema Grey are available in custom sizes and both are flame retardant, mildew resistant, and washable with mild soap and water.
