EliteProAV Announces New Ambient-Light-Rejecting Screen Options

EliteProAV, a division of Elite Screens, has announced that its Saker Tab-Tension retractable electric projection screen is now available with material designed to counter the “wash out” effect of ambient light.

Combining ambient-light-rejecting (ALR) and ceiling light rejecting (CLR) properties, the 16:9 screen is outfitted with the company’s high (1.5) gain CineGrey 5D material and certified by the Imaging Science Foundation (ISF) to “achieve D65 color neutrality, superb contrast, and dynamic range.”

The screen material, made of 0.35-mm-thick textured PVC with a silver-gray reflective surface and tinted diffusion layer, is suitable for use with table- or ceiling-mounted projectors. “Its 110° overall half-gain angle makes it ideal for theater-style seating as it enhances picture brightness while retaining 88% polarization during 3D presentations,” the company said in a press release.

Although the screen is retractable, its tab-tension design uses side cords to ensure a flat projection surface. The material is encased in a white-enamel-coated aluminum housing with floating wall brackets that make it easy to center a projected image on the wall.

The screen is available in 100-, 120-, 135-, and 150-inch (diagonal) sizes with extra drop borders for high-ceiling installations; retail prices start at $2,749. The supplied installation kit provides an RJ45 port for integration with third-party control systems, an infrared (IR)/radio frequency (RF) control package with a 5- to 12-volt trigger to coordinate screen movement with the projector’s power cycle, and a detachable three-way (up/stop/down) wall switch.

EliteProAV offers a five year manufacturer’s warranty.
