HT Labs Measures: Canton Movie LE 125 Speaker System

This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the LE 100 K satellite (purple trace), AS 25 SC subwoofer (blue trace), and LE 100 CM center channel (green trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.

The LE 100 K's listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +2.93/–1.87 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3dB point is at 91 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 80 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 3.74 ohms at 7.0 kHz and a phase angle of –41.61 degrees at 4.2 kHz. Sensitivity averages 86.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz.

The LE 100 CM's listening-window response measures +3.60/–1.48 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +3.61/–1.30 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 80 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 70 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 3.78 ohms at 5.6 kHz and a phase angle of –48.88 degrees at 129 Hz. Sensitivity averages 86.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz.

The AS 25 SC's close-miked response, normalized to the average level from 40 to 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3dB point is at 44 Hz and the –6dB point is at 40 Hz. The upper –3dB point is at 146 Hz with the crossover control set to maximum.—AJ
