Infinity TSS-800 Speaker System HT Labs Measures
Satellite Sensitivity: 84.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz
Center Sensitivity: 86 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz
This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the TSS-Sat800 satellites (purple trace), TSS-Sub800 subwoofer (blue trace), and TSS-Center800 center channel (green trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grilles at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.
The TSS-Sat800's listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +2.14/–2.91 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3-dB point is at 174 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 146 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.67 ohms at 369 Hz and a phase angle of –51.02 degrees at 230 Hz.
The TSS-Center800's listening-window response measures +3.30/–1.32 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +3.08/–1.35 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 174 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 149 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.79 ohms at 351 Hz and a phase angle of –48.82 degrees at 241 Hz.
The TSS-Sub800's close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 43 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 35 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 129 Hz using the LFE input.—MJP
