Paradigm Monitor Series v.5 Speaker System HT Labs Measures
L/R Sensitivity: 93.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz
Center Sensitivity: 94.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz
Surround Sensitivity: 86.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz
This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the Monitor11v5 L/R (purple trace), UltraCube 12 subwoofer (blue trace), CC-390v5 center channel (green trace), and ADP-390v5 surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grilles at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.
The Monitor11v5's listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +3.38/–2.50 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3-dB point is at 53 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 42 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.16 ohms at 188 Hz and a phase angle of –41.27 degrees at 93 Hz.
The CC-390v5's listening-window response measures +2.07/–3.17 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +2.10/–2.89 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 82 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 67 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 3.92 ohms at 587 Hz and a phase angle of –63.22 degrees at 91 Hz.
The ADP-390v5's three-face averaged response measures +2.24/–1.78 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 92 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 81 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.29 ohms at 531 Hz and a phase angle of –71.95 degrees at 91 Hz.
The UltraCube 12's close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 18 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 17 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 154 Hz with the Cut-Off Frequency control set to 154.—MJP
