B&K AVR307: Connoisseur's HT Receiver
The AVR307 features seven channels of high-resolution power. With "class A" drivers steering a MOSFET output stage, the AVR307 can generate 185 watts into a four-ohm load---per channel! ---enough to satisfy even the most power-hungry action movie fan. B&K's purist audio tradition has been continued with the AVR307, earning it unequivocal praise from reviewers.
Dual-zone operation enables a completely separate program to run in a different room, without the need for separate sources. Supported surround formats include Dolby Digital ® , THX ® , DTS ® , 6.1 Surround, 7.1 Surround, and Surround EX ®. Digital inputs are converted to high-resolution analog outputs thanks to processing by a Motorola 56362 DSP chip and 96K/24 bit digital-to-analog converters. The AVR307 is software-upgradeable via an RS232 port on the back panel. B&K also plans to make hardware upgrades available.
The AVR307 incorporates many external control functions---such as outputting trigger signals to lower a video screen or dim room lights. These functions require cumbersome extra hardware in other systems. B&K's "Plug and Play" feature takes the guesswork out of selecting the correct video or audio format and the universal remote control comes pre-programmed with codes to operate more than 1000 AV products already on the market. It can also learn any other code, allowing it to duplicate the functions of every remote in your system.
Like other B&K products, the AVR307 is designed and built in the US. Suggested retail is $3498 with black faceplate; add $100 for silver, gold or 19" rackmount version.
