PS3 3D Firmware Update Surfaces
Is the PlayStation 3 gaming platform about to go 3D? Not yet, but there's a sign that it will soon do so.
As you can see in the illustration, a "3D Video Output" option appears in the settings menu of a new version of the firmware, 3.20. Developers are now fiddling with it. When it gets out to the public remains to be seen.
You will of course need a 3D capable video display to take advantage of it. And the much discussed question of whether it will work with HDMI 1.3 or 1.4 remains to be settled.
