Russell Brand reinvents the role of lovable billionaire Arthur Bach, an irresponsible charmer who has always relied on two things to get by: his limitless fortune and lifelong nanny Hobson to keep him out of trouble. Now he faces his biggest challenge: choosing between an arranged marriage to ambitious corporate exec Susan that will ensure his lavish lifestyle, or an uncertain future with the one thing money can't buy - Naomi, his true love. With Naomi's inspiration and some unconventional help from Hobson, Arthur will take the most expensive risk of his life and learn what it means to be a man.

Warner delivers a solid presentation for this comedy remake. The film is bright all around and exhibits great fine object detail and dimensionality. Colors are vibrant and do rely on some obvious enhancement, but it never gets overdone. The DTS-HD Master Audio mix is good and essentially what you’d expect from the genre. Dialogue is balanced into the mix nicely and the surrounds do a decent job of filling in the voids with nice ambiance and some occasional directional cues. Deep bass hits some notes from time to time, namely with the cars, but this isn’t what I’d call an aggressive mix.

Warner includes their DVD counterpart and digital copy with this Blu-ray release. They also include a behind the scenes feature, some deleted scenes and a gag reel.

I was a big fan of the original Dudley Moore classic growing up and added this to the list of unneeded remakes. Surprisingly its heart is in the right place and it actually has its charms. While I wouldn’t call it a must see, you could do far worse.
