Pioneer Ups Their Blu-ray Ante
Pioneer showcased three new Blu-ray players at CES including their upcoming Elite BDP-23FD. The BDP-120 and BDP-320 are new additions to the non-Elite line and are BD-Live compliant and offer full support of the new audio codecs. The 23FD and BDP-320 will have 1GB of internal memory built in while the BDP-120 will ship with a 1GB flash media drive for BD-Live compliance.
The BDP-320 looks to be the first non-Elite player to really see some trickle down video features from the higher end Elite line including 48-bit Deep color support, picture controls and full noise reduction capabilities. The 23FD goes even further with a RS-232 interface for custom installers, a Kuro link mode that automatically sets up the users Kuro flat panel if the player is connected to the right input and video settings and a multi-channel lock system for optimal audio performance.
No prices have been locked down but all three players should be hitting the markets in the summer.
