TCL’s New All-In-One Lifestyle TV Displays Digital Art

TCL has joined Samsung in offering a lifestyle TV designed to showcase digital art when it’s not in use.

Hailed as the “world’s thinnest all-in-one TV,” the new NXTFRAME TV is similar in concept to The Frame TV Samsung introduced in 2017, but instead of offloading the TV’s brains and connections to a separate box, everything is housed in a TV panel just over an inch thick.

The 4K quantum-dot (QLED) TV comes pre-loaded with an Art Library comprising a variety of paintings, photographs, drawings, and street art that can be put in rotation with or without background music playing. The display can be customized with adjustable matting, finishes, and colors to complement different artwork, and the personal photo gallery includes several static and motion options as well as a screen saver mode. An interactive AI Art mode can also be tapped to curate a customized art experience.

Artwork and personal photos are displayed on an anti-reflective matte screen surrounded by an off-white frame that resembles art matting with a light wood-colored bezel that attaches magnetically to the frame. In addition to using artificial intelligence to improve the overall picture quality of TV sources, the AiPQ processor at the core of each NXTFRAME TV also intelligently optimizes the color, contrast, and clarity of any digital artwork on display, according to TCL.

The company announced plans to offer a standard 1.1-inch-thick model and a slightly deeper (1.2-inch) Pro model with enhanced audio in screen sizes ranging from 55 inches to 85 inches. Pro series models include an enhanced audio by Bang & Olufsen package featuring a wireless 3.1.2-channel soundbar and wireless subwoofer (shown below) in addition to B&O’s proprietary BeoSonic digital interface for customizing the sound.

The line launches with two standard models: the 55-inch 55A300W ($1,500) and 65-inch 65A300W ($2,000). An additional six NXTFRAME models are slated to ship in September, including the 75-inch 75A300W ($2,500) and 85-inch 85A300W ($4,000) standard models and four Pro series models: the 55-inch 55A300WPRO ($2,000), 65-inch 65A300WPRO ($2,700), 75-inch 75A300WPRO ($3,500), and 85-inch 85A300WPRO ($5,000).

NXTFRAME TVs support the Dolby Vision with IQ, HDR10+, HDR10, and HLG high dynamic range formats and feature a wide color gamut along with TCL’s QLED Pro technology for more accurate color and High Brightness+ LED Backlight for brighter images. Audio highlights include support for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and DTS Virtual:X surround sound and an Enhanced Dialogue Mode.

The TV is also designed to meets the needs of gamers, action-movie buffs, and sports enthusiasts with a 120Hz/144Hz VRR refresh rate, TCL’s Motion Rate 480 technology featuring motion estimation and motion compensation (MEMC), Game Accelerator 240 with Auto Game Mode, and AMD FreeSync Premium for 240 VRR gaming.

NXTFRAME TVs include a bracket for mounting the panel flush to the wall and TCL will offer an easel-style stand with detachable wheels ($700) and matching table feet ($150) in September. For more information, visit tcl.com.
