Audible Audiobooks Now Available on Sonos

Sonos has announced that audiobooks and other spoken-word programming from Audible is now available on its platform.

Owners of Sonos audio systems like the Top Pick-designated Sonos One wireless smart speaker can now play Audible through the Sonos App or directly from the Audible app. Audible must be added to the Sonos app.

Sonos owners can navigate chapters and jump forward and backward 30 seconds. Alexa voice support is coming but Sonos didn’t say when.

“Audible on Sonos allows you to catch up on a biography while you cook dinner in the kitchen or queue up Artemis by Andy Weir in the living room with the family,” said a Sonos spokesperson. “Put the kids to bed while listening to a story from Audible for Kids, and then turn on Miles: The Autobiography by Miles Davis while you wind down for the night.”

Sonos says the addition of Audible is a continuation of the company’s agnostic approach to content.

For a limited time, Sonos is giving new subscribers two free credits and preloading Miles: The Autobiography of Miles Davis when they sign up for a 30-day trial through the Sonos app. Sonos has also recommended “five audiobooks to listen to now” at sonos.com.
