AudioControl Issues IMAX Update for AVRs, Processors
On Tuesday, the Seattle-based company released a firmware update that makes its AVR-7 and AVR-9 receivers and Maestro M5 and M9 preamp/processors compliant with the new IMAX Enhanced certification program.
To become IMAX Enhanced-certified, an audio or video product must meet stringent performance standards established by IMAX and DTS engineers in conjunction with Hollywood technical specialists.
Certified products incorporate an IMAX Mode optimized to play digitally remastered IMAX Enhanced content to achieve “the best viewing and listening experience on that device.” Benefits are said to include enhanced color and contrast and an immersive IMAX theatrical sound mix that is translated for the home theater environment.
The firmware update is available for downloading at audiocontrol.com.
