Focal's Diva Utopia loudspeaker recently debuted in the U.S., showcasing the combined expertise of French audio company Focal and British partner Naim. This launch marks their first fully active, wireless, and connected loudspeaker.

At the event held in Manhattan's Par Excellence store—located in the trendy East Village and Bowery neighborhoods—Focal and Naim Audio CEO Cedrick Boutonet and Marketing Manager Réjean Bedel introduced the Diva Utopia to an eager audience of audio reporters and reviewers.

Weighing 141 pounds and priced just under $40,000, this three-way, bass-reflex speaker has a pure beryllium "M"-shaped inverted dome tweeter reaching up to 40kHz, a 6.5-inch midrange driver with Focal's patented "W" cone material, and four 6.5-inch "W" cone woofers arranged in a force-cancelling configuration.

The speaker measures approximately 48 inches tall, 16.5 inches wide, and 22 inches deep, with a frequency response ranging from 27Hz to 40kHz.

The Diva Utopia is the culmination of five years of intensive research and development, aiming to redefine high-end audio by combining exceptional sound quality with user-friendly features. Each speaker is powered by three built-in Class AB Naim amplifiers—250W for low frequencies, 75W for midrange, and 75W for high frequencies—totaling 400W per unit.

For connectivity, the speaker supports HDMI eARC, optical, RCA inputs, and Bluetooth. Its ultra-wideband (UWB) technology allows for high-definition audio transmission between the two speakers without loss or compression and with imperceptible latency at 96kHz/24-bit resolution; using the supplied cable enhances this to 192kHz/24-bit.

Users can control the Diva Utopia effortlessly via a dedicated app, the included remote control, or their preferred voice assistants, making the user experience seamless.

The cabinet is crafted from high-density molded polymer with structural reinforcement optimized through finite-element analysis. It features four detachable grey felt-covered panels—a modern, eco-friendly material. Spikes are included for optimal positioning.
