Roku has joined forces with Chinese TV manufacturer, Hisense to offer a Roku TV. When the TV is first turned on, it will display a Roku home page similar to the menu on a Roku Box streaming device. Components that are connected to the TV’s inputs via HDMI will be recognized and an icon will be added to the home page. A user will be able to click on the icon to change to that input as easily as clicking on any other Roku “channel” (app). A Settings app will be added to get into the TV’s preference menus and settings.

Unlike other smart TVs that are integrating TV programming with online programming, there is no special TV guides or aggregated list of movie and TV titles. The Roku TV is scheduled to be launched in September 2014. The company is not yet discussing pricing but expects that the Roku TV may be an H4 model.
