Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis star as accidental outlaws on a desperate flight across the Southwest after a tragic incident at a roadside bar. With a determined detective on their trail, a sweet-talking hitchhiker in their path and a string of crimes in their wake, their journey alternates between hilarious, high-speed thrill ride and empowering personal odyssey even as the law closes in.

It might be a safe bet to call Ridley Scott (and his D.P.) officially responsible for the teal/orange incident that is plaguing cinema today. Despite its 20-year-old moniker, this film looks like it was shot today with nearly every shot bathed in teal. Aside from that detail looks quite good with a nice dimensional quality and plenty of depth. The age of the film shows from time to time but the print looks to be in pretty good shape with only some minor nicks here and there. The 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio mix delivers with a playful sound design and some good dynamic range. The mix has a somewhat dated feel in its overall fidelity, but it isn’t as harsh as most older soundtracks.

This new anniversary edition features two audio commentaries, one with director Ridley Scott and the other with the main cast and screenwriter. You also get some deleted and extended scenes, a look at the production, some storyboards and a music video.

Ridley Scott definitely redefined girl power with this one. Its still just as fun today as it was 20 years ago and this new Blu-ray does a commendable job with the A/V presentation. While I was a bit put off by the gross amount of teal throughout, I’d still recommend this one for fans!
