Looking for a compact speaker with built-in phono preamp so that you can plug a turntable directly into it?

Vancouver-based Kanto, which describes itself as a nine-year old emerging company, offers three new active speakers. The two equipped with phono preamp are the YU6, with 5.25-inch woofer ($389/pair), and the YU4, with four-inch woofer ($299/pair). The third member of the family is the YU2, with three-inch woofer ($199/pair). All woofers are Kevlar cones and all tweeters are one-inch textile domes.

Inputs include Bluetooth, optical, RCA, and mini-jack. Each model is available in at least a half-dozen colors with gloss or matte finishes. Hint: Get the baby blue. The smallest one also comes in a bamboo finish. All are shipping later this month.
