Krell Resolution 2 Speaker System HT Labs Measures
Resolution 2 L/R Sensitivity: 87.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz
Resolution C Center Sensitivity: 87.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz
Resolution 3 Surround Sensitivity: 86 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz
This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the Resolution 2 L/R (purple trace), Resolution Subwoofer (blue trace), Resolution C center channel (green trace), and Resolution 3 surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.
The Res. 2's listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +1.06/–2.60 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 43 Hz; the –6dB point is at 31 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 2.60 ohms at 98 Hz and a phase angle of –61.25 degrees at 49 Hz.
The Res. C's listening-window response measures +2.06/–1.15 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +2.74/–1.29 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 52 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 41 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 3.27 ohms at 18.5 kHz and a phase angle of –45.78 degrees at 57 Hz.
The Res. 3's listening-window response measures +1.22/–4.05 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 58 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 50 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 3.35 ohms at 8.5 kHz and a phase angle of –53.67 degrees at 84 Hz.
The Res. Subwoofer's close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3dB point is at 26 Hz and the –6dB point is at 24 Hz. The upper –3dB point is at 235 Hz with the LFE switch engaged.—MJP
