Marantz has announced that free DTS:X firmware updates for the SR7010 and SR6010 AV receivers and AV8802(A) and AV7702mkII surround processors will be available early next year.

The AV8802(A) update will be available February 4 while updates for the other three models are slated to go live March 3. Instructions on how to update can be found at marantz.com.

The company said additional updates for current DTS:X-ready models will follow later in 2016.

The SR7010 was recently named one of Sound & Vision’s 2015 Top Picks of the Year in AV receivers, while the AV8802 was singled out as the overall 2015 Top Pick of the Year.

With the update, the receivers and processors will be able to run an Audyssey-equalized DTS:X setup with 9.2 or 11.2 channels.
