MartinLogan has announced plans to expand its popular Motion Series with seven new models.

New floorstanding models include the Motion 60XTi ($1,600 each) featuring a Folded Motion XT tweeter, 6.5-inch midrange driver, and dual 8-inch woofers; the Motion 40i ($1,100 each) that combines a Folded Motion tweeter with a 5.5-inch midrange driver, and dual 6.5-inch woofers; and the Motion 20i ($850 each) with a Folded Motion tweeter and two 5.5-inch woofers in a compact cabinet.

Bookshelf models include the Motion 35XTi ($650 each), featuring a Folded Motion XT tweeter and 6.5-inch woofer, and the Motion 15i ($400 each) with a Folded Motion tweeter and 5.25-inch woofer.

Center-channel models include the Motion 50XTi ($1,000 each), featuring a Folded Motion XT tweeter and dual 6.5-inch woofers, and the Motion 30i ($750 each) with a Folded Motion tweeter and dual 5.5-inch woofers.

All models have rear firing bass ports.

Key features common to all models include MartinLogan’s signature Folded Motion and (larger) Folded Motion XT (60XTi, 50XTi, and 35XTi) tweeters, aluminum-cone midrange drivers and woofers with concave dust caps to reinforce the strength and rigidity of the cone, proprietary Vojtko crossover networks featuring custom components, and gold-plated five-way binding posts.

In floorstanding models, the woofers are positioned low in the cabinet and close to the floor to improve bass performance by eliminating floor bounce.

All cabinets are braced to reduce resonance and boast a 1.2-inch-thick MDF baffle and 0.7-inch-thick walls. Three finish options are offered across the new models: gloss black with black grilles and gunmetal gray trim, matte white with silver grilles and silver trim, and red walnut with black grilles and champagne-colored trim.
