MartinLogan Powered "Feature" Speaker
Sometimes the best approach is the simplest. Put a high-end 150-watt amplifier right into the chassis of a high-end speaker that can be placed in any position in your home theater. Simple enough.
The MartinLogan "Feature" is an electrostatic speaker designed to be used anywhere in your system — wall-mounted or on a stand, especially as a center-channel, but also as front or surround. Well, if you don't mind spending $1,695 per speaker, and style isn't all that high on your list of requirements. Sorry — it's just not the sexiest speaker out there. However, for situations where a standard receiver/amplifier/speaker doesn't work, money is no object, and style be damned.
Keep reading for the speaker specs.
The Feature features a 150-watt switching amplifier. There are RCA line-level inputs in addition to speaker-level inputs for a standard installation. In addition to the electrostatic transducer, the Feature has a neodymium tweeter and two 5.25-inch woofers.
When you need a powered speaker to complete your home theater and your budget allows it, you should feature the Feature. —Leslie Shapiro
