Mirage Omnisat 6 Speaker System HT Labs Measures
This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the Omnisat satellite (purple trace) and LF-150 subwoofer (blue trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes. Please note that comparing the measured response of any multi-pole loudspeaker with that of a conventional monopole loudspeaker is tricky at best. Due to this loudspeaker's inherently different radiation pattern, it is to be expected that the listening-window response will appear to droop in the higher frequencies.
The listening-window response of the Omnisat measures +2.64/-5.05 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. An average of axial and +/-15-degree horizontal responses measures +2.53/-5.39 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The -3dB point is at 123 Hz, and the -6dB point is at 98 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.28 ohms at 322 Hz and a phase angle of -59.88 degrees at 146 Hz. Sensitivity averages 83.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz.
The close-miked response of the LF-150, normalized to the average level from 40 to 80 Hz, indicates that the lower -3dB point is at 26 Hz and the -6dB point is at 24 Hz. The upper -3dB point is at 134 Hz with the frequency control set to maximum.—AJ
