The Chicago-based ensemble Spektral Quarter has recorded its third ablum—Serious Business—in Auro-3D on the Sono Luminus label.

The album, which offers “four different perspectives on humor through the lens of classical music,” is slated for release January 29 on Pure Audio Blu-Ray and will feature an Auro 9.1 mix alongside traditional stereo and 5.1 mixes.

“The Auro-3D mix creates an exciting three-dimensional soundscape thanks to the addition of a height layer above and around the listener,” according to a press release issued by Auro Technologies.

Serious Business will be distributed by Naxos and available through major “brick-and-mortar” and online retailers, including Amazon. Pricing was not announced for the Blu-ray version of the album but the CD version is priced at $19.99 on Amazon.
