Panasonic ready to shove Blu-ray into your car
Something tells me Blu-ray might be overkill for the 7-inch, 1280x270 screen on Panasonic's CN-HX3000D head unit, but that has never stopped hardcore car modifiers in the past. The unit actually sounds pretty solid, offering up a five-channel amp, Bluetooth, a 40 GB HDD, GPS and iPod compatibility behind a windows-based OS. Of course, since the news comes from Impress, it will surely show up in Japan before it makes its way to the states, but with the traffic in Tokyo, they deserve it. There's no word on how much it will cost, but it's probably fair to assume "a lot" will cover it. Is it worth a huge chunk of cash just so your kids can watch Shrek in HD on long drives?
