This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the S60 L/R (purple trace), PSW125 subwoofer (blue trace), S35 center channel (green trace), and S20 surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grilles at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.

The S60’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +3.16/–1.97 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3dB point is at 44 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 36 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.24 ohms at 8.3 kHz and a phase angle of –64.83 degrees at 74 Hz.

The S35’s listening-window response measures +2.10/–1.63 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +2.22/–2.08 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 99 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 89 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.54 ohms at 379 Hz and a phase angle of –67.10 degrees at 158 Hz.

The S20’s listening-window response measures +1.05/–1.68 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 52 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 46 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.59 ohms at 166 Hz and a phase angle of –68.52 degrees at 84 Hz. The PSW125’s close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3dB point is at 45 Hz and the –6dB point is at 39 Hz. The upper –3dB point is at 115 Hz with the Low Pass control set to maximum.—MJP
