PSB Image Series Speaker System HT Labs Measures
This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the Image 7PT L/R (purple trace), SubSonic 6 subwoofer (blue trace), 9C center channel (green trace), and 10S surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.
On-axis response of the 7PT measures +1.49/-2.16 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The -3dB point is at 28 Hz, and the -6dB point is at 26 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 2.79 ohms at 326 Hz and a phase angle of +31.49 degrees at 843 Hz. Sensitivity averages 91 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz.
On-axis response of the 9C measures +1.98/-3.19 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and (+/-15 degree) horizontal responses measures +1.97/-4.40 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The -3dB point is at 69 Hz, and the -6dB point is at 57 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 6.28 ohms at 6.6 kHz and a phase angle of -46.40 degrees at 98 Hz. Sensitivity averages 90 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz.
Three-face averaged response of the 10S measures +3.43/-1.43 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The -3dB point is at 91 Hz, and the -6dB point is at 75 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 3.43 ohms at 247 Hz and a phase angle of +49.43 degrees at 1.1 kHz. Sensitivity averages 87 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz.
Close-miked response of the SubSonic 6, normalized to the average level from 40 to 80 Hz, indicates that the lower -3dB point is at 31 Hz and the -6dB point is at 28 Hz. The upper -3dB point is at 104 Hz.—AJ
