RIP: Keith Emerson, Founder and Keyboardist of ELP
Another icon of the rock generation has departed this world: Keith Emerson, founder and keyboardist extraordinaire of the influential progressive rock band Emerson, Lake & Palmer, a.k.a. ELP, died Thursday night at his home in Santa Monica. He was 71.
Tragically, the Santa Monica police have confirmed that Emerson died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Emerson’s personal site had yet to be updated as of this writing. The last post was his tribute to David Bowie
