Sony Announces HDR Update for More 4K TVs
Sony announced an imminent update that will add high dynamic range (HDR) capability to its X850C, X900C, and X910C 4K/Ultra HD (UHD) TVs. The update was previously announced for X930C and X940C model TVs.
With the update owners of those model TVs will be able to experience HDR-encoded content through Amazon Video.
Starting this fall, consumers who buy a Sony HDR-compatible UHD TV will also receive up to $100 of HDR content through the Amazon Video app. The deal provides access to movies from Sony Pictures, including The Amazing Spider Man 2, Men in Black 3, After Earth, and Fury, as well as the first season of Amazon’s Transparent and Mozart in the Jungle and the pilot episode of the upcoming comedy Red Oaks.
