Time Warner Tests Cable TV without the Box
Starting this week Time Warner Cable is testing a version of its TWC TV service for Internet-only customers living in New York City, according to a report on Engadget.com.
The beta program supports “a number of hardware platforms” but focuses on streaming TV through Roku boxes, Engadget reported, noting that participants can get a Roku 3 box for free.
Programming options include a starter package for an extra $10/month, one that adds Showtime and Starz for $20/month, and a $50/month package with more than 70 channels.
The full Endgadet report is available here.
How long will it be before we can get all the programming we want without a cable box?
