Triad InRoom Silver Speaker System HT Labs Measures
L/C/R Sensitivity: 92 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz
Surround Sensitivity: 87 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz
This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the InRoom Silver LCR (purple trace), InRoom Silver PowerSub (blue trace), and InRoom Silver Surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grilles at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.
The Silver LCR's listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +0.67/–3.76 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +0.52/–4.91 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 82 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 67 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.51 ohms at 203 Hz and a phase angle of –48.47 degrees at 4.3 kHz.
The Silver Surround's three-face averaged response measures +2.68/–3.88 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 96 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 82 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.27 ohms at 1.9 kHz and a phase angle of –59.40 degrees at 111 Hz.
The Silver PowerSub's close-miked response using a 20Hz input, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 20 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 16 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 195 Hz with the low-pass controls set to maximum.—MJP
