Yamaha Gives Voice To MusicCast
Yamaha was at CEDIA demonstrating the Alexa voice-control capabilities recently added to its MusicCast wireless multiroom audio system.
With the free firmware upgrade, the addition of an Amazon Dot module or any microphone-equipped Alexa-enabled speaker to your home network allows users to instruct Alexa to direct specific content or playlists on any active MusicCast device on the network, whether it's a standalone MusicCast speaker or a MusicCast equipped Yamaha AV receiver. In the demonstration shown in the photo, one of Yamaha's fine player pianos, equipped with speakers to reproduce drum and instrument accompaniment, was directed by voice to play a song, then send the piano music to a speaker in a different zone.
