Faulty TV Mounts Recalled
Two flat-panel TV mounts have been recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Circuit City because they pose a safety hazard.
The Verge-brand model numbers are VPSW103M and VPSW103M2. The product itself is not labeled but the packaging is.
According to the CPSC: "Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.... If upward force is applied to a mounted television, the bracket's lock bar could unfasten. This could cause the television to fall and injure bystanders."
The mounts were sold at Circuit City from September 2006 through April 2007 for $140-180. Circuit has mailed free repair kits to some customers and invites others to request them. You may also ask for a free repair by a professional installer. For more information call Circuit at 888-666-9897.
