Sears and Kmart Do Roxio Streaming
The two chains will sell streaming-savvy TV and Blu-ray players from LG, Panasonic, RCA, Samsung, Sharp, and Sony that support service from Alphaline Entertainment. But the underlying technology is from Sonic Solutions' RoxioNow, which also powers similar services for products sold by Best Buy and Walmart as well as Blockbuster's online service. It will allow consumers to set up the service in the store, then take home the hardware and start enjoying movies from Sonic's 5000-title library. The RoxioNow platform in general services many devices: not only TVs and disc players, but also PCs, set-top boxes, smart phones, and other mobile media devices.
Roxio now supports DTS streaming, woo-hoo!
