Continental Seating Takes Off
Hurst, TX-based Continental Seating will be run as a separate company by a group of former Leather Center employees, according to a June 12 announcement. Continental Seating will fulfill all outstanding orders for home theater seating that were placed with Leather Center, and the internal restructuring will be "invisible" to customers, the announcement stated.
Continental Seating will carry a similar selection of products, employing the finest leathers available, and will provide the "quick-ship" delivery service it did as a division under the Leather Center umbrella. The new company will also offer more customization options than were previously available, according to vice president Shelly Norman.
Continental will sustain Leather Center's level of quality, Norman asserted. "The same individuals who were manufacturing the Home Theater seating product for Leather Center will continue manufacturing product for Continental Seating," he said, adding that “the majority of sales representatives, distributors, and dealers who were integral to the success of Leather Center’s home theater seating products, have signed up with the new company."
"The new venture will continue to offer the same margins for its dealers, based on existing price sheets," Norman stated. "But this time, we will only concentrate on manufacturing seating for the Home Theatre market."
Continental Seating has retained J.B. Stanton Communications as its PR agency. Press inquiries can be sent by email to Stan Pinkwas, who can be reached by phone at 718-788-7777. Shelly Norman can be reached at 940-440-9977.
