LG Debuts 2025 OLED evo Lineup: Brighter Panels and AI-Powered Customization

LG has announced its 2025 OLED evo series at CES, including what the company describes as the world’s first “true wireless” OLED evo M5, alongside new G5 models. According to LG, these televisions incorporate the latest Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen2 (featured on the G5 and M5 lines) and boast up to three times the brightness of the brand’s previous OLED sets.

LG says the new panels use what it calls Brightness Booster Ultimate technology, an approach the company claims refines both “light control architecture” and “light-boosting algorithms.” As described by LG, the result is increased clarity and detail in both bright and dark scenes, with certifications such as UL Solutions’ “Perfect Black” and “Perfect Color,” plus Intertek’s 100 percent color fidelity. LG further states that select 2025 models (65-inch M5/G5/C5) are TÜV Rheinland-certified for rapid brightness and color-temperature stabilization, so users purportedly see accurate images as soon as the set is turned on.

Filmmaker Mode and Gaming Features
LG indicates it has teamed up with “the creative community” to refine Filmmaker Mode with Ambient Light Compensation. The company says this setup automatically adjusts picture settings to honor cinematic intent in various lighting conditions.

On the gaming side, LG claims these TVs support 4K resolution at 165Hz in Variable Refresh Rate mode, with certification from NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium. The brand also highlights a tear-free, stutter-free gaming experience, bolstered by ClearMR 10000 certification from VESA.

AI Processing and Personalization
Behind these features is LG’s Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen2, which the company states leverages deep-learning algorithms to upscale lower-resolution images and deliver more natural visuals. LG also cites “Dynamic Tone Mapping Professional,” aimed at fine-tuning HDR10 content for color accuracy in multiple viewing environments. On the audio side, LG touts virtual 11.1.2 surround sound via AI Sound Pro and says the sets can adapt tonal balance and clarity to user preferences.

Personalization appears central to LG’s pitch. The company points to AI-driven enhancements such as AI Picture/Sound Wizard—described as analyzing over a billion image settings and millions of audio profiles—to tailor modes for each viewer. LG also notes that an AI Remote greets users by name (AI Welcome) and can recognize voices (AI Voice ID) to switch profiles and supply targeted content recommendations.

webOS, Chatbots, and Copilot
LG’s updated webOS interface (dubbed the 2025 version) is said to be faster, more intuitive, and capable of multi-platform integration with Home Hub, ThinQ, and Google Home. According to LG, owners will also find an expanded search function aided by Microsoft Copilot, plus an AI Chatbot that suggests solutions to potential user issues in real time. Another new twist is the Generative Image Gallery, which LG says can create customized, voice-command-based backgrounds.

LG touts a “webOS Re:New” program, offering five years of updates and enhancements. The claim is that customers can keep their new TVs current without buying additional hardware down the line.

Wireless OLED M5 and More
The M5 series, which LG refers to as the first truly wireless OLED TV, supposedly transmits both audio and video at up to 4K 144Hz without latency or picture degradation. NVIDIA G-SYNC certification is again cited here, alongside an expansion of LG’s wireless technology into upcoming QNED TVs.

LG notes that its 83-inch G5 model earned a “CES 2025 Best of Innovation Award,” while the 83-inch M5 was named an honoree in the Video Display category. The 2025 lineup is on display at CES from January 7–10 in Booth #15004 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
