The company describes a microdisplay as a small display, about the size of a thumbnail, that when combined with an optics system, has the ability to make the apparent size of the image viewed larger than the size of the actual display. Three-Five says that its Brillian family of microdisplays addresses the market's need for high information content displays in small, cost-effective packages.
With over 2.3 million pixels on a small, 0.85" diagonal, the Brillian, according to the company, its highest resolution microdisplay currently available. The company adds that the Brillian 1920 is well suited for front projection applications, as well as 1600 x 1200 and higher resolution monitor applications and can address both HDTV formats: 1280 x 720 and 1920 x 1080 in progressive scan.
Three-Five says it has developed a complete line of Brillian Microdisplays, ranging from SVGA, the resolution of the Internet, to WUXGA, for products that require high definition or ultra-high resolution.
